The conference and the pre-conference workshop have been successfully completed and nearly 300 participants from more than 25 countries attended the 40th APACPH Annual Conference in Kuala Lumpur. The sponsor the Asia-Pacific Academic Consortium of Public Health (APACPH) comprising of 64 members Universities in 20 countries and the Organiser would like to thank all the participants that have made this conference a success.
The host University of Malaya, the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine and the Medical Education and Research Development Unit, Medical Faculty and Dental Faculty made significant contribution in making this conference possible and creating the condition and climate for a very successful meeting.
This year the APACPH Public Health Recognition Award was awarded to Professor Tan Sri Datu Dr Haji Mohamad Taha Arif and the Kazue McLAREN Leadership Achievement Award was awaeded to Professor Dato’ Dr. Mohd Amin Jalaludin.
Our deliberation on the Global Health Challenges are themselves very challenging.
The participants have together made a declaration that health is a basic human right that universities and communities must work together to achieve.
The 41st APACPH Annual Conference will be held in Taipei, R.O.C. (Taiwan) in December 2009.
